Our Story
Two people, one silver lab, and a whole lot of adventures.
Ben and Abbie met in the fall of 2020 during their senior year at SMU. They started dating soon after, right as Abbie left Dallas to begin physical therapy school at Duke. For the next 3 years they made long distance work, with Ben making frequent pit stops in Durham as he traveled around the country for work. Those visits quickly turned into camping trips, ski weekends, and beach vacations with friends and family. In the fall of 2024, Abbie returned to DFW with her Doctor of Physical Therapy and a silver lab named Summer. After a year living apart in Dallas and Fort Worth, Abbie, Ben, and Summer finally moved in together in Dallas, where they loved building a life surrounded by their closest friends.
In early 2026, Ben started putting a plan together to propose and asked Greg for permission on a Reichow family ski trip in Big Sky. A few months later, Abbie mentioned wanting to visit Big Bend National Park, and Ben knew it would be the perfect place. While making the arrangements for a “normal” camping trip, he planned a weekend full of surprises. On a sunrise hike, Ben proposed at the top of the Chisos Mountains, and Abbie of course, said yes. They spent the rest of the weekend celebrating with hiking, stargazing, campfires, card games, and a beautiful engagement shoot to round it all out.
When it came time to choose the perfect place to say “I do,” one destination rose above the rest. Abbie spent her childhood summers on Hilton Head Island and holds many fond memories there, including trips with Ben when she shared her love for the island with him. While touring venues, the low country beauty of Palmetto Bluff, with its live oaks and Spanish moss, became the clear and overwhelming choice. Abbie and Ben can’t wait to share this beautiful landscape and celebrate their special day with all of you.
